Population Council (PC)
The Population Council is an international, nonprofit institution
that conducts research on three fronts: biomedical, social science, and public
health. This research—and the information it produces—helps change
the way people think about problems related to reproductive health and population
growth. The Council's research makes a difference in people’s lives

Lead
Pakistan
LEAD International was established in 1991 by the Rockefeller
Foundation. The goal of this independent, non-profit organization was to forster
global network of future decision-makers that would facilitate environmentally
sustainable and socially equitable use of the earth’s resources. To
quote Ms. Marie Angelique Savane, the organization’s President in 1999,
LEAD was “seen as a way to ensure that sustainable development would
become a global culture”. LEAD was established as a Rockefeller Foundation
project and continues to benefit from the Foundation’s generous support

SDPI
SDPI was founded
in August 1992 on the recommendation of the Pakistan National Conservation
Strategy (NCS), also called Pakistan’s Agenda 21. The NCS placed Pakistan’s
socio-economic development within the context of a national environmental
plan. This highly acclaimed document, approved by the Federal Cabinet in March
1992, outlined the need for an independent non-profit organisation to serve
as a source of expertise for policy analysis and development, policy intervention,
and policy and programme advisory services in support of NCS implementation.
