Description:

A tall robust perennial herb, with tufts of long petioled radical leaves, a tall flowering stem with connate leaves and bearing whitish flowers with blue, green veins. Flowers in lax spike like terminal cluster; corolla lobes narrow elliptic 1cm with 1 or 2 basal lanceolate acute fringed nectarines. Basal leaves lanceolate, long stalked and clasping the stem at the base, uppermost leaves narrow lanceolate acute stalk less. Fruit ovoid capsule with many seeds.

 

Habitat:

In the Northern Areas it is found at an elevation of 3,660 meters. Astore, Galwanjut, Rama, Rampur, Rattu, cantt area, Nalter, and Bar valley Nagar.

 

Medicinal uses:

Medicinally it is used for opthalmatic diseases.

Locally it is used for eye diseases. Dry root is mixed with milk and poured in the eyes for relief of pain in the eyes.
