Description:

At elevations of 9to 12000, very abundant at burzil top Minimarg, chlim, bulashbar and other places of northern areas growing on marshy beds of streams.

 

Habitat:

A tall robust perennial, with tufts of long petioled leaves. A tall flowering stem with connate leaves and bearing star like whitish flowers with blue green veins. Leaves radical long petioled in tufts, from a stout rootstalk; cauline leaves opposite connate. Flowers grayish white with blue green veins, in cluster of 3-5 pedicel led flowers born on long peduncles erect from the axils of the leaves forming in long narrow panicle. Sepals 5 corollas 5 lobed rotate, stamens 5 attached near the base of corolla. Ovary 1 celled, fruit an ovoid capsule with many seeds.

 

Medicinal uses:

locally it is used for optithalmatic disease.
