Description:

A large herb with an erect leafy stem with a slender woolly spike of many yellow flowers, and with oblanceolate pale yellowish gray woolly leaves. Flowers 1.8 to 2.5 Cm in diameter yellow nearly sessile crowded in terminal woolly spikes; bracts longer then flowers corolla concave woolly outside tubes short lobes 5nearly equal broad blunt; Stamen 5to 3 short 2long capsule ovoid seeds many winkled or not winged.

 

Habitat:

In Gilgit Baltistan it is found in Astore Nalter Deosai kargah naullah and other dry and stony slopes.

 

Medicinal uses:

This herb is used in pulmonary complaints and asthma. Locally the leaves and flowers are used in fever, pulmonary disease cough bleeding of lungs and bowels leaves are hot dry and narcotic to fish demulcent and astringent.
