While SDPI engages with government and other partners at senior policy levels, it also carries out research for the development of the community and the enhancement of the most precious resource in South Asia–human capacity. SDPI’s Human Development program aims at empowering people and motivating them to have a say in policies that are designed for their benefit. Although human development is a cross cutting issue which is treated across many sectors and areas of research, following areas stand out as integral parts of human development in South Asia:
