Introduction
Vibrant organizations value the importance of good writing that can promote their image by correctly conveying the outcome of their programmes and activities. They appreciate the effective and communicative writing and documentation to enhance their business and productivity. To achieve this, it is necessary for their management and research personnel to acquire skills in effective writing through appropriate training. The workshop will focus on helping the participants to learn the latest techniques of technical and business writing through informal, participative, and user-friendly methods.
Objectives
To help participants understand fundamental principles and methods of report writing, adopt logical thought process, sift to organize writing material efficiently and produce well-structured reports.
Methodology
SDPI follows participatory and experiential training approach for skill development, and the session plans, besides lectures, are developed around experience-sharing, group work, practices and presentations. Based on the feedback on earlier training programmes, sessions have been planned to optimise satisfaction of the participants and achieve objectives of the workshop.The workshop is designed to directly involve participants, individually as well as in groups, in writing effective reports, and they will have an opportunity to discuss ideas and present solutions.

Malik Mushtaq Ahmed holds a Master degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. An accomplished and widely acknowledged professional technical writer, he has over 30 years of experience in writing various kinds of reports, technical articles, books and brochures. He has worked in Pakistan Agricultural Research Council as publications and information professional. During this period he trained a large number of persons in report writing skills. He participated in several expert consultations relevant to writing and information, both at national and international levels. He has served as liaison officer in Pakistan for information services, provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. He has represented Pakistan for three years as member of the governing board of SAARC information centre established at Dhaka, Bangladesh. Since his retirement, he is working as a free-lance trainer and has delivered a number of training courses for UN sponsored project staff and managers working in leading NGOs.He will be assisted by co-trainers and guest speakers.

Cancellation/postponement
SDPI reserves the right to cancel or postpone
the workshop if circumstances require. In such an event, SDPI will ensure
that registered participants are informed as soon as possible. SDPI will
also refund registration fees according to our refund procedures.
Award
of certificates
- Trainees successfully completing 85 percent of the instructional sessions will be awarded completion certificates.
- Trainees who for genuine reasons are unable of complete 85 percent attendance but attend 60 to 84 percent instructional sessions will be given partial attendance certificates.
- Trainees attending less than 60 percent of instructional sessions will be given letters specifying the sessions that they attended.
