| Venue: The training workshop will be held at SDPI or in a local hotel in Islamabad. |
Introduction
Environmental concerns are now serious issues for development projects, business and industry the world over. To remain competitive in the global market, compliance with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14000) has become an essential requirement. Under the WTO agreements, the export sector must comply with the Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Any complacency on this account would mean losing the international market. However, many entrepreneurs in Pakistan still lack complete understanding of ISO 14001 certification. It is also true for our decision makers. This training workshop has been designed to help development project planners and implementers, entrepreneurs and decision makers to have in-depth understanding of EMS. It would also enable participants’ organizations in preparing for and getting ISO 14001 certification.
